Club Batter Hits Kagiso Rabada for Sixes, Wins $1000 After Kevin Pietersen Challenge Backfires

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen saw himself on the losing end as a club cricketer completed a grueling six-hitting challenge against Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada.

The challenge, which took place as part of a video released on Pietersen's official YouTube channel, 'KP The Switch', was set to be completed in three rounds each with an increase in difficulty. The participant would have to clear the ropes on Kagiso Rabada's deliveries in 'easy', 'intermediate' and 'impossible' rounds. The person who succeeded in clearing the ropes across all three challenges would receive a reward of USD 1,000.

Initially, the challenge looked easy as Rabada delivered simple deliveries to the batter in the easy round. Four out of six participants qualified from the easy round. From there, just three made their way through to the final, 'impossible' round.

In the final round, Rabada turned it up a notch with a range of yorkers, slower bouncers ,and wide balls to prevent batters from clearing the ropes.

Rabada Continues Strong IPL 2026 Form

While the South African may have failed to come out trumps in the fun challenge, he has been in fine form throughout IPL 2026 for Gujarat Titans.

The speedster, one of the most potent in the world at present, is currently ranked among the top wicket-takers in the competition with a tally of 21 wickets in 12 matches. It is his contributions with the new ball that have been integral to the overall success of Gujarat.

His best of 3/22 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, earning him Player of the Match award in the game, is just one example of his quality.

"I just leave everything out there for the team. That's as simple as that," Rabada was quoted after the match.

He also cited the importance of maintaining a rhythm and adapting to conditions for fast bowlers in the shortest form of the game.

His reliability with the ball has seen Rabada emerge as one of Gujarat Titans' key individuals in their bid for the IPL 2026 playoffs.
