15-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has turned into one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026, like people can’t stop mentioning him.
The Rajasthan Royals opener keeps dominating headlines with a fearless style, and record shattering performances throughout the season, somehow always at the right moment.
From blasting the most sixes in a single IPL edition, to becoming the highest scoring uncapped batter in tournament history, Sooryavanshi has basically had a sensational campaign so far.
Still, with all the spotlight and sudden appreciation, a few rumours have also started drifting around on social media platforms, quite fast, and not always clearly. One big claim recently said that Mumbai Indians had offered the teenage sensation a luxury flat valued at ₹30 crore.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already smashed several records during IPL 2026. When he got the chance to open the innings for RR , the youngster went after the bowlers in a very bold way, using that fearless batting method and this standout power-hitting approach.
He also broke Chris Gayle’s old, well known record for the most sixes in a single IPL season. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi further crossed the 600-run threshold with a strike rate that sat above 240, and in doing so became the top scorer among uncapped batters in IPL history.
One of his best knocks, came against SRH in the Eliminator , where he blasted 97 runs off just 29 balls. In that spell, he hit 12 sixes, and got to his half century in only 16 balls, matching the joint-fastest fifty in IPL playoff history.
After those really strong performances, rumours about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s next steps started spreading quickly online. A few social media posts claimed Mumbai Indians were looking to sign him for upcoming IPL seasons, and well… people kept repeating it.
According to the viral chatter, the five-time IPL champions had reportedly offered Sooryavanshi a premium apartment in Mumbai valued at ₹30 crore. A few videos and social media posts, even kinda claimed that talks had already happened between the player and the franchise, you know.
Despite all the huge online noise, reports saying Mumbai Indians were offering Vaibhav Sooryavanshi a ₹30 crore apartment are completely false. Neither Mumbai Indians nor the player has officially confirmed any such offer, not at all.
The rumours, reportedly, started from social media guesswork and a bit of confusion around the youngster’s recent property purchase, too. According to recent reports, Sooryavanshi did buy a luxury apartment in Mumbai, but the estimated price is somewhere between ₹2.5 crore and ₹3 crore , way less than the viral ₹30 crore number that’s been floating around online.
Right now , Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is still a key piece in the Rajasthan Royals squad, and there are no clear signs that he’s going away from the franchise anytime soon. After they edged out Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, Rajasthan Royals will take on Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 on May 29, and the chance to reach the IPL 2026 final, against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru is on the line.
