The left arm spinner has rejoined Warwickshire County Cricket Club, after a pretty impressive introduction for India in the one off Test versus Afghanistan last month . Suthar also picked up a spot in India’s 15 member squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka Test series.

Suthar first linked up with Warwickshire for two County Championship matches back in June 2026. In that stretch, he bagged 11 wickets in only those two games, and yes that included his first ever five wicket haul for the club. What stood out is that his showings suggested he could adjust fast to English conditions. After a brief pause, the spin bowling all rounder is now returning to feature for Warwickshire in their next game.

At just 23 years old, Suthar got off to a strong international start by taking 6 for 33 in the first innings against Afghanistan, which played a big part in India’s emphatic win. He even removed a batter with the fourth ball of his Test career, and in doing so became one of the rare Indian bowlers to claim a wicket in the opening over of a Test match.

Before making his India debut, Suthar impressed a bit in domestic cricket for Rajasthan, and honestly it looked really strong early on. He grabbed 18 wickets in three matches, with one match-winning spell of 8 for 42 against Chhattisgarh. Over all, he has collected 147 wickets in 32 First-Class matches . Later on, Gujarat Titans (GT) signed him for the TATA IPL 2026, and there he played four matches, picked up two wickets too, no more no less.

And along with Suthar, New Zealand batter Will Young has also slipped back to Warwickshire after a successful three-match stint at the end of 2025, kind of like it ended on a good note. He will be on hand for the club’s remaining six County Championship matches this season, so that part is set.

Young has racked up more than 8,700 runs in 143 First-Class matches , with 16 centuries and 52 half-centuries along the way. He’s also made over 1,200 runs in Tests, including 11 fifties while representing New Zealand. Last year he struck 72 runs on his Warwickshire debut, against Surrey , and then he wrapped up his three match spell with an average of 53.

Warwickshire lifted the County Championship trophy in 2021, and they remain in the frame, for another county title this season. Right now they sit five points adrift of Division One leaders Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, who have banked 116 points after eight matches. Warwickshire will try to narrow that margin in the next rounds, and not drift away from the top.

Warwickshire Performance Director, James Thomas stated: “We’re very pleased to welcome both Will and Manav back to the Bears after both players made a real impact when they were last with the Club. We’ve played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and both players will now bring additional quality at a crucial time of the campaign where we are in the mix for the title. Will adds experience to our batting line-up, especially with Beau Webster’s time at the Club over for the season, while Manav showed earlier this year that he has the ability to change a game with the ball as well as adding crucial runs.”
