Rajasthan Royals Win Big Despite Ugly Start
In the game itself, the Rajasthan Royals put on a brilliant all-round show to seal victory against Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs.
Put in to bat first, the Royals posted a respectable score of 159, thanks to an unbeaten 43 from Ravindra Jadeja, who helped the side navigate through the early loss of wickets.
Responding to the chase, the Super Giants found themselves on the back foot right from the get-go. The wicket of Pant at the top didn't help their cause as they failed to build a partnerships throughout the course of the innings. Mitchell Marsh offered some resistance and scored a half-century, but he failed to find support from the rest of the batting lineup.
The Rajasthan bowlers never really lost control throughout the innings as wickets tumbled, with Jofra Archer and Burger picking up the important wickets, eventually bowling out the LSG for just 119 runs in 18 overs.
Earlier, the Super Giants' bowlers had put in a great effort to keep the scoring under check. With quick wickets, Shami chipped in with two scalps whereas Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav bowled economical spells to keep the Royals in check.
The win saw the Rajasthan Royals climb up to second on the table with a stronger campaign now on the cards, whereas the Super Giants slumped to the ninth spot with another poor show with the bat.
