Patidar moves up in Orange Cap table
After the latest round of matches played in the Indian Premier League 2026 season, there have been major changes to the Orange Cap standings.
The clashes between Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru were the ones that played a massive role in it.
Rajat Patidar has made an ascent to the second position in the charts for the top run-scorers. The RCB skipper has enjoyed a fantastic season and has consistently performed in all the four matches he has featured in. With scores of 31, 48*, 63 in the previous encounters he played 53 off 20 deliveries at a blistering pace against MI. It pushed his tally to 195 runs and to second place in the chart.
He is now just behind Rajasthan Royals' opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who holds the top position and SRH's Heinrich Klaasen who is occupying third place.
Sooryavanshi's opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal is steady in the fourth position followed closely by the ever consistent Virat Kohli in fifth. Kohli's knocks of 69*, 28, 32 and 50 this season have pushed him to close in on the top performers.
Prasidh Krishna leaps to top in Purple Cap
There has also been a shift in the top of the Purple Cap rankings. Gujarat Titans' Prasidh Krishna has taken the pole position.
Krishna, who also bagged the Purple Cap last season, produced a fine spell against LSG as he went onto pick up 4 wickets in 28 runs. This propelled him to 10 wickets in only 4 matches thereby taking him to first position in the charts ahead of the others.
Ravi Bishnoi of Rajasthan Royals has taken the second spot with 9 wickets under his belt. He has been one of the most consistent bowlers of the season so far.
Chennai Super Kings' Anshul Kamboj sits in the third spot. He has impressed with his spells this season.
Prince Yadav and Jacob Duffy sit joint fourth with 6 wickets each.
The tournament is developing well, and a tight race is ensuing between all contenders in both the Orange Cap and Purple Cap categories.
