Lister Replaces Clarke in NZ's White-Ball Squads for Bangladesh Tour: Full Squad Update

Cricket Gully 4 days ago

New Zealand has called up left-arm seamer Ben Lister to join their ODI and T20 squads for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. He steps in for Kristian Clarke, who unfortunately has to sit out due to a hand injury.

Clarke sustained a laceration to the webbing of his right hand while trying to catch a ball during a one-day match for New Zealand A against Sri Lanka A earlier this week.

Currently, Lister is with the New Zealand A squad in Sri Lanka and is expected to fly to Bangladesh on Sunday, just in time for the ODI series that kicks off in Mirpur on Friday. It’s been over two years since he last played for the national team.

On another note, fast bowler Ben Sears will miss the ODI portion of the tour after being signed as a last-minute replacement for Rawalpindi in the Pakistan Super League.

He won’t be replaced in the ODI squad but is set to rejoin the team for the T20I series, which begins in Chattogram on April 30. The New Zealand team also announced in their media release that they plan to depart for Bangladesh on Monday, April 13.
