A dominant all-round performance saw Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs in Match 32 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted a strong 159/6 in 20 overs, before their bowlers restricted LSG to 119 all out in 18 overs.
Ravindra Jadeja Guides RR to Competitive Total
Rajasthan Royals had a mixed start after being put in to bat. Early wickets put pressure on the top order, with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 22 off 12 balls before falling to Mohammed Shami. Dhruv Jurel was dismissed for a duck, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also failed to contribute much.
Captain Riyan Parag made 20 runs, but the innings truly stabilized through Ravindra Jadeja. He played a key knock of 43 not out from 29 balls, holding the innings together when wickets kept falling. Donovan Ferreira added 20 runs, while Shubham Dubey provided a late boost with 19 off 11 balls to push RR to a fighting total of 159.
For LSG, Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan took two wickets each, while Prince Yadav also picked up two. However, Mayank Yadav had a tough outing, conceding 56 runs without a wicket.
LSG Collapse As Marsh Fightback Falls Short
160 was a good target and Lucknow Super Giants failed to make any inroads in the game. The innings began disastrously with Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram all departing for cheap scores within the first 3 overs. 11/3, the innings was in tatters.
Mitchell Marsh waged a lone war, scoring 55 from 41 balls, 6 fours and 2 sixes. Nicholas Pooran also managed 22, while Himmat Singh hit 15. But it wasn't enough as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Jofra Archer was on top with 3/20 breaking the backbone of the chase while Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma claimed two wickets apiece. Jadeja was also on the score sheet, picking up a vital wicket with the ball in what was a very pleasing all-round display from the all-rounder.
LSG were bowled out for 119 in the 18th over, a clear failure to chase.
Jadeja Named Player of the Match
Ravindra Jadeja was declared the Player of the Match for an invaluable, unbeaten 43 and picking up a crucial wicket, helping RR dominate both innings and win comfortably.
