Babar Azam had a close shave when he was hit on the side of his neck by a quick bouncer from Ubaid Shah in PSL 2026 match. The skipper of Peshawar Zalmi fell to the ground and a brief halt in the play occurred as all the players ran toward Babar to see whether he was okay.

For a while, Babar seemed in immense pain and it seemed as if he won't continue his innings any further. However, after the inspection, he got back up and decided to stay in the middle and carry his innings well. Although the situation settled down in sometime, the clips of the moment gone viral, as fans took to social media and shared it widely.

This is a huge development as Babar, leading the Peshawar Zalmi this tournament, is trying his best to make a come back into the T20 format, after undergoing a slump.

Babar-Mendis Partnership Pull Zalmi Back into the Game

After the fall of an early wicket at the beginning of the innings Peshawar Zalmi was struggling but their stand for the second wicket between Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis put the Zalmi back in contention. Mendis was more of the attacking option of the two while Babar took a mature and stable approach to the innings as they compiled a 109 run partnership that put Zalmi right back into the match as they reached their milestone.

Babar ended up scoring 43 of those runs before being caught while building the innings in helpful conditions for the bowlers. Peshawar Zalmi finally finished on 173 for 7 in 20 overs after having some pressure early in the innings. In response, Lahore Qalandars could only manage 97 runs as they lost all their 10 wickets at the end of 17 overs, eventually losing the game by 76 runs.

In this innings, there was another record that was broken as well which was none other than that of Babar Azam who became the first ever player to complete 4000 runs in Pakistan Super League history. He is now one record holder ahead of the other top performers in the league as his career is building a resume of astonishing records.
