Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on December 28, 2001. He holds the record for accomplishing the fastest fifty ever in the history of the IPL. In the 2023 season, while playing for the Rajasthan Royals against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he reached his half century in 13 balls.

He had broken the previous record held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins at 14 balls each for their half-century scores. His great batting in the Indian Premier League in 2023 made his team proud.

Romario Shepherd

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Romario Shepherd joined KL Rahul and Pat Cummins as the second fastest player to hammer a half-century in IPL. The Guyana born all-rounder achieved this feat in the 52nd match of IPL 2025 against Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

The match was evenly poised till 18th over of RCB's innings as Chennai bowlers managed to contain runs after explosive start by RCB. However, it was Shepherd who came in all set from the dressing room and in the 19th over by Khaleel Ahmed, the right-hander mustered 33 runs, the most expensive over in IPL 2025. This over completely shifted the tempo towards RCB and Shepherd capitalized it by attacking the best bowler of the night, Matheesha Pathirana, in the last over. He smoked two fours and two sixes to reach his fifty in just 14 balls, the fastest of the season. In his innings of 53, Romario smashed four fours and six sixes and with the help of it, RCB reached the total of 213 at the loss of five wickets.

KL Rahul

The IPL record for the fastest fifty, 15 balls, stood for nearly four years until KL Rahul breached it in his debut season for Kings XI Punjab. A fortunate top-edged six off Trent Boult got him underway, before he got some good cover drives and pulls from Mohammad Shami's first over.

He still seemed a long way off the fastest fifty with 27 off nine balls until he struck 24 off Amit Mishra's first over to beat the mark by a single ball. Soon enough, Rahul was out, caught at short third man, trying to hit Boult through the leg side. He had long since stamped his mark, though, as one of the IPL's premier hitters.

Pat Cummins
