India all-rounder Hardik Pandya really caught everyone's attention after he went to the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, with his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma.
The two were spotted there offering prayers at the well-known temple and Pandya looked different, because he had a completely shaved head , like fully clean.
Photos and videos from their visit spread fast on social media, and a lot of fans were honestly surprised by the new look. The India star also joined in the temple’s Suprabhatam Seva during the time they were there.
Naturally, people started asking why Pandya shaved his head in the first place. The answer connects to a popular tradition at the Tirumala temple, where devotees donate their hair as part of a religious ritual after offering prayers.

Visit timing during injury break
Pandya’s temple stop comes while he is trying hard to get back into international cricket mode. He has been away after dealing with a stiff back and thigh injury, so the schedule has not been easy for him.
Because of that injury, Pandya missed India’s ODI series against Afghanistan. He was also not available for the white-ball tour of England, and he did not play in the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe either.
More recent reports have said that Pandya has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. That update has made fans hopeful that he could return soon to India’s white-ball squad.
And with the 2027 ODI World Cup getting closer by the day, Pandya’s fitness becomes pretty crucial for the Indian team. Over the years he’s been one of India’s key all-rounders, so the team will clearly want him fully ready for the next big set of tournaments.

While Pandya keeps recovering, India are set for a big two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, led by captain Shubman Gill. The first Test kicks off on August 15 at the Galle International Stadium, and the second one will be in Colombo, starting August 23
This series matters a lot for India’s World Test Championship plans, because strong results are needed if the team wants to stay in the race for a spot in the final.
Even though Pandya is not part of the Test squad, supporters are still waiting closely to see him back wearing India colours in the coming white-ball matches. His rehabilitation going well has given many fans the feeling that his return might not be too far away.
