In a heated incident during the Eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hyderabad Kingsmen pace bowler Mohammad Ali has landed himself in a bit of trouble.

The altercation took place during the 16th over of Islamabad United's chase where Ali and the Kiwi star Mark Chapman was batting alongside Faheem Ashraf. The duo exchanged words until the Hyderabad pace bowler, Hunain Shah, intervened and dragged Ali away from Chapman in order to de-escalate the situation.

The incident was caught during the live telecast and fans made it viral in no time.

Verbal Spat During Chase, Ali Reprimanded

The on-field umpires of the game Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat noticed the exchange and reported the incident, after which the Match Referee Roshan Mahnama dealt with the issue.

The Pakistan Cricket Board found Ali guilty under Article 2.21 of the PSL Code of Conduct for "Conduct that brings the game into disrepute".

Subsequently, the 33-year-old pace bowler was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a level 1 offence. Ali admitted to the charge and pleaded guilty, therefore the proceedings didn't go to a formal hearing.

Hyderabad Seal Dramatic Win

The incident aside, Hyderabad Kingsmen ended the game in style. They registered a dramatic victory against Islamabad United, and booked their place in the final.

Ali had an off-day with the ball as he conceded 44 runs from his four overs, without picking a wicket. The match went down to the wire as Hunain Shah defended six runs of the last over to hand Hyderabad a memorable victory.

The Kingsmen will now face Peshawar Zalmi in the final at the Gaddafi Stadium on May 3.

Ali, other than this fixture, has been a stand-out performer for Hyderabad. The fast-bowler has picked up 17 wickets in 11 innings at an average of 20.05, and is currently third in the leading wicket-takers list, behind Peshawar Zalmi's Sufiyan Muqeem who has 21 wickets to his name.
