A debut for young Pakistan fast bowler in the 2026 PSL season got off to a forgettable start as the very first over of Lahore Qalandars' innings was dispatched for 26 by Mohammad Naeem in his maiden appearance for Multan Sultans.
This total broke the record for most runs conceded in the first over of any innings in the PSL.
The young man started his over by bowling five wides. After another wide and one legal delivery which went for four. Another wide near the boundary saw Lahore at 14 without bowling the second legal delivery. Naeem followed this up with two boundaries in that same over to get Lahore to 22 before two singles would end the over with 26.

This is five more than the previous record set by both Imran Khalid and Mohammad Nawaz at 21. Ismail later came back with the wicket of Parvez Hossain Emon in the sixth over, who was in stunning form, having made 45 of 19 balls and later dismissed Abdullah Shafique for 33 in 9th over.
Naeem and Emon Shine in Rain-Affected Match
In a match shortened to 13 overs due to rain at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Lahore Qalandars would come out in full force after a delay. They were led by aggressive batting from Mohammad Naeem and Parvez Hossain Emon, who put on 86 from only 5 overs against nearly all the bowlers.
Peter Siddle was able to concede only 6 runs but the other bowlers would have no response. Wasim, Nawaz, and Akram were all hit for over 16 in their early overs and at 123 for 1 after 7 overs Lahore were only halfway through. Unbeaten Multan Sultans were led by captain Ashton Turner and Fakhar Zaman was banned for the match for ball tampering for 2 games.
