WATCH: Rizwan Falls to Clever Spin as PSL 2026 Moment Goes Viral

Mohammad Rizwan's lean patch in T20 cricket continues and the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League 2026 is no different. Leading RawalPindiZ the former Pakistan captain failed to make any impact once again as he could score just 26 off 29 deliveries against Multan Sultans in the match number 31 of the tournament.

Batting at the top of the order for his team at the National Stadium in Karachi, Rizwan could not find any comfort as he managed to hit just a boundary and a six in the innings while playing a lot of dot balls as well and ended his inning with a strike rate of 89.65.

His innings was brought to an end in the 11th over of the match when the up and coming spinner Arafat Minhas bowled him a flighted delivery and out of nowhere, Rizwan stepped out but missed the ball entirely and Josh Philippe completed a sharp stumping behind the stumps.

Watch here:

This dismissal perfectly sums up the current form of the ex-Pakistan captain, as he seemed uneasy and unsure against the spin and failed to modify his game. A lot of people also questioned Rizwan's technique against the ball that is delivered outside the off-side and it has exposed him quite a lot in this season.

Concerns Over Form Remain Despite Owner's Backing

Rizwan's poor form is not limited to this one match; throughout the entire season 2026, he has only managed to score 133 runs in 8 innings at an average of 16.62. His inconsistency in this format of the game was seen earlier in 2026 when he could manage to score 187 runs in 10 innings playing for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League.

Once a vital player in the T20 international format for Pakistan, Rizwan has lost his place in the national side due to his poor strike rate and lack of big scores. His form in this format of the game is raising a lot of questions on his future at the international level in the shortest format.

Despite the fact that he has failed to deliver for the team management this season, RawalPindiZ owner Ahsan Tahir has shown immense support for his captain. Backing Rizwan despite the number of losses for the team he mentioned:

Ahsan Tahir Said:

"I'm pretty sure that under Rizzy's captaincy we will develop a champion team. And that will be for years to come, Inshallah. I'm very confident of that."

However, results have not been in their favor and RawalPindiZ have lost seven matches on the trot under the captaincy of Rizwan and are still to register their first win of the season.

In the recent match that RawalPindiZ played, they batted first and scored 166 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. It was Daryl Mitchell who led the batting order from the front as he stayed not out at 58 off 46 deliveries while Dian Forrester smashed a quickfire 37 off 15 deliveries, batting at number 7. RawalPindiZ started off with a poor start as they were 6 for the loss of 2 wickets in just 3 overs before making a strong comeback later in the innings.

Rizwan, for now, will have to deal with all the pressure but he still seems to have the support from the team management and will have to turn his fortune around quickly to get back to his rhythm and gain his form back in this format of the game.
