The World Championship of Legends will return for its third season in October 2026, with organisers confirming a seven-team competition featuring former international stars and selected active cricketers outside central national contracts.
The tournament, which has completed two editions, will include India Champions, Pakistan Champions, England Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, West Indies Champions and Bangladesh Champions.
Organisers said the upcoming season will continue the format that blends recognised legends with players still involved in franchise T20 cricket. Further information regarding squads, venues, fixtures and broadcast partnerships is expected through official channels in the coming months.
Seven Teams And Tournament Structure
The organisers said WCL has developed a reputation for reviving historic cricket rivalries and offering supporters another opportunity to watch celebrated players compete in a professional environment. According to the league management, the player pool has become one of the competition's defining features.
WCL allows participation from retired internationals as well as active cricketers who are not centrally contracted with their respective boards. Organisers believe the inclusion of such players has enhanced both competitiveness and entertainment.
Season 3 will feature the same multinational structure that has defined previous editions, with seven teams representing major cricketing nations taking part during the October 2026 window.
Organisers Outline Season Vision
Harshit Tomar, Founder & CEO, World Championship of Legends, said,
"When we launched WCL, our vision was to give fans a tournament that goes beyond cricket -- a celebration of the icons who shaped the game. In just two seasons, WCL has grown into a cricket phenomenon, with fans eagerly waiting all year long for the tournament, and Season 3 is going to take that legacy to an entirely new level."
Ajay Devgn, Co-Owner, World Championship of Legends, said,
"WCL is more than just a cricket league - it is emotion, nostalgia and entertainment coming together on one platform. Looking forward to Season 3, it's going to be our boldest season yet."
Organisers said the new season will continue building on the foundation established during the first two editions as preparations progress toward October. League officials stated preparations are underway while maintaining focus on competition standards, player participation and fan engagement.
