The India Meteorological Department predicted that thunderstorms are likely to occur in the afternoon hours, and heavy rainfall coupled with strong winds will persist with instances of lightning to effect the game.
According to meteorologists the presence of a low-pressure system over the eastern parts of India, coupled with moisture from the Bay of Bengal led to formation of thunderstorms over the eastern region and causing continuous thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds in Kolkata and its nearby regions.
In case the weather conditions don't stabilize the KKR-LSG encounter may encounter slight delays or be abandoned. After suffering two defeats and one abandonment, Kolkata Knight Riders would hope to see a complete game after this fixture.
