JAMMU, July 20: The closing ceremony of the 15th Jammu District Shooting Championship was held today at Mission Olympics Shooting Academy, Paloura, with Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, as the chief guest and Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Chairman, JKRA, as the special guest.
During the ceremony, Dharmvir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, Jammu District, presented a report on the two-day championship, stating that 115 shooters from various clubs and schools across Jammu District participated in the event.
The chief guest distributed medals to the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organising committee, shooting clubs and schools for promoting shooting sports in Jammu and Kashmir. He also lauded the role of coaches, support staff and parents in nurturing young talent. He congratulated Aneesha Sharma for her international achievement and wished her success in future competitions.
Laksh Chetan Wazir was adjudged Best Scorer in the 10 Metre Air Rifle event with a score of 395/400, while Arav Khataia topped the 10 Metre Air Pistol event with 378/400. The championship was conducted by the technical panel comprising Vishal Mehra, Aman Singh, Vishal Sharma, Sunny Khajuria, Shamsher Singh and Aneesha Sharma under the supervision of Rajesh Virdhy, Chairman, Technical Committee, JKRA.
