Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, June 7: Central Committee meeting of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association was held here today under the leadership of the Association General Secretary Shoba Sharma for discussing the issues pertaining to Anganwadi workers and Helpers.

The meeting was also attended by Neelam Sharma, State General Secretary BMS and Harbans Choudhary, senior leader of BMS. The meet highlighted that from January 2026 to May 2026, wages have not been disbursed except the month of April 2026, because of the reasons best known to officials.
It was also said that Mobile phones given In 2018-19 are of 2GB and have become outdated as now work load has increased manifold. Further as per the norms a Model Anganwadi Center requires minimum 600 sq feet area having two rooms, kitchen, kitchen garden, wash room and store, but in Bishnah block Anganwadi Center Addhler -B is in violation of all the set norms and rules.
Alleging that officials at local level are forcing to operate model Anganwadi center in just one room of hardily 120-30 sq feet area, the meet demanded a high level enquiry to identify the vested interests behind the scene.
The meet also demanded that pending wages and incentives be also released without any further delay and new version of mobile phones be also given to the workers.
