The Project was a long-pending demand of the local residents, who welcomed the commencement of the work and expressed gratitude to MLA, Arvind Gupta for taking up their concern and ensuring its execution.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that providing strong and reliable basic civic infrastructure to the people remains one of his key priorities.

"Development at the grassroots level is the foundation of a better quality of life. The lane and drain work in Bharat Nagar was a long-pending demand of the residents, and I am pleased that the project has finally commenced. Our focus is to ensure that every locality receives the basic infrastructure it deserves," Arvind Gupta said.

He further stated that the development of lanes and drainage systems is essential for improving sanitation, preventing water logging and ensuring safer and cleaner surroundings for residents.

"We are committed to addressing genuine public issues on priority. I will continue to work closely with the people and concerned departments to identify pending requirements and ensure that development reaches every street and every household," he added.

The Rs 18.37 lakh project is expected to strengthen basic civic infrastructure, improve drainage facilities and provide much-needed relief to the residents of Bharat Nagar, particularly during the rainy season.

Local residents said that the project would address a long-standing civic issue in the area.

MLA Arvind Gupta also directed the concerned officials to maintain proper quality standards and ensure timely completion of the development work.

The inauguration was attended by Mandal president, Anil Angral, former corporator, Neelam Nargotra, senior leader, Keshav Chopra, Parveen Ghai, Raj Kumar Raji, Sat Paul and a large number of local residents.

Officials from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including the 3rd Division AEE and JE, were also present on the occasion.
