Srinagar, Aug 27: The J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority (JKLCMA) has deployed four machines to clean up the Dal Lake stretch around SKICC and Lalit Ghat ahead of the first International Film Festival from September 7 to 10.
The deployment includes three harvesters and one Water Master to remove aquatic weeds and floating material from the water surface.
JKLCMA Vice Chairman, Khurshid Ahmad Shah inspected the areas today along with Collector LCMA and other senior officers.
He directed field staff to carry out the cleaning work on priority and ensure that the areas around the festival venues remain clean and presentable.
Shah also stressed timely completion of the works and regular monitoring throughout the festival.
The JKLCMA said the measures are aimed at maintaining clean surroundings for the national and international guests expected to attend the event.
