Vehicle worth Rs 6 lakh attached in bovine smuggling case

RAMBAN, July 6: Police have attached a vehicle worth around Rs 6 lakh under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in connection with an alleged bovine smuggling case.

The action was taken during the investigation of FIR Number 102/2026, registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

According to police, the investigation revealed that the vehicle, bearing registration number JK19A-2917, was allegedly purchased using proceeds from bovine smuggling. Based on the findings, Police Station Ramban approached the competent court and obtained attachment orders.

Acting on the court's directions, the vehicle was attached in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Ramban. It is owned by Mubasher Hussain, son of Abdul Qayoom, a resident of Halla Dundrath, tehsil Rajgarh, district Ramban.

The attachment proceedings were carried out by the SHO, Police Station Ramban, under the guidance of the Deputy SP (Headquarters) Ramban and the supervision of the SSP Ramban.
