Ahmedabad, April 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a coordinated election campaign in 15 municipalities across Gujarat on Sunday.
This campaign marks the official start of the party’s efforts for the upcoming local body elections. Candidates will collectively take an oath of public service under the ‘Jan Seva Sankalp’ program.
According to BJP leaders, this initiative will commence simultaneously at 9:30 AM in all 15 municipalities. The party stated that this move follows the completion of the nomination process by candidates on Saturday and is being conducted under the guidance of state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma.
To commemorate the launch of the campaign, BJP candidates will collectively pledge their commitment to public service. The party has also announced that senior BJP leaders will be deployed across all municipalities as part of the organizational plan.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will attend the event in Ahmedabad, while state BJP president Vishwakarma will be present in Rajkot. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and state BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ratnakar Pandey will participate in the event in Vadodara.
Central Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil will be in Surat, while BJP MP Parshottam Rupala will be in Jamnagar. Former state BJP president R.C. Faldu will attend the program in Bhavnagar.
In Vapi, the state BJP Scheduled Tribe Front president Ganpat Vasava will represent the party, while state minister Kanu Desai will be in Navsari. Former minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama will be in Mehsana.
State BJP General Secretary Aniruddh Dave will be present in Gandhidham, and former minister Gordhanbhai Zhadphia will attend the event in Anand. Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel will be at a program in Nadiad.
Former BJP MP Ramesh Dhaduk will be in Porbandar, former minister I.K. Jadeja will be in Morbi, and state minister Jitu Vaghani will participate in the event in Surendranagar.
According to the schedule announced by the State Election Commission, voting for the local body elections is set for April 26, with a single-phase voting process across the state. These elections will cover 15 municipalities, 84 municipal councils, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats, involving millions of voters.
Vote counting will take place two days after the election, on April 28, with results announced on the same day, ensuring a swift electoral process post-voting.
