Bhopal, April 6: In a significant move to enhance internal security, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched a joint training and demonstration program between the National Security Guard (NSG) and the Madhya Pradesh Police on Monday at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.
The Chief Minister made two major announcements aimed at strengthening the state’s counter-terrorism capabilities. He revealed that a detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared for the modernization of the Counter Terrorist Group (CTG), with an allocation of ₹200 crores, which will be implemented soon.
Additionally, a modern training center will be established in Tumda village of Huzur tehsil in Bhopal district for disaster management and anti-terrorism operations. This center will play a crucial role in bolstering national security preparedness.
The training program will run from April 7 to May 4. Its goal is to equip state police, ATS, and CTG personnel to effectively address modern security threats.
During the event, NSG’s Black Cat Commandos showcased a simulated terrorist attack, demonstrating rapid response, counter-attack, and aerial operation techniques.
The Chief Minister praised the display, calling it an excellent example of courage, determination, and bravery. He emphasized that such rigorous training prepares security forces to tackle challenges across land, water, and air.
He noted that India’s culture promotes the welfare of all, but under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country has made it clear that any provocation will be met with strength.
Yadav stated that extremist forces pose significant obstacles to the nation’s development, and it is essential to address them firmly. He referred to the NSG as the country’s robust security shield, asserting that as long as security forces remain vigilant, citizens will be safe.
He also mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is now entirely free from Naxalite influence, crediting the security forces for this achievement.
Director General of Police Kailash Makwana indicated that this joint training will cover approximately eight critical areas.
The program commenced with a welcome from the police band and was attended by senior police officials and NSG personnel.
