The agreement was signed by Professor K.K. Agarwal, President of South Asian University, and Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda University. The event was attended by distinguished guests, subject experts, senior government officials, and students.

During the signing, Professor K.K. Agarwal expressed confidence that this partnership would strengthen academic and research ties between the two universities, opening up extensive development opportunities for students.

Professor Sachin Chaturvedi described this collaboration as a new and impactful beginning, emphasizing that the primary aim is to extend the benefits of both institutions’ academic traditions to students.

The MoU is expected to unlock numerous avenues for joint development between the two institutions. It includes provisions for joint research supervision and teaching programs, post-doctoral opportunities, seminars, conferences, publication of research papers, faculty, researcher, and student exchanges, as well as shared access to academic resources and research materials.

It is noteworthy that both Nalanda University and South Asian University are prestigious international institutions operating under the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India, known for their global recognition. Additionally, Nalanda University recently concluded its two-day annual Economics Festival, ‘Arth-Nalanda 2026,’ focusing on the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Changing Economic Landscape.’ The festival featured keynote lectures, debate competitions, and various contests exploring the transformative role of AI in global economic systems.

The event saw the participation of several distinguished speakers, including former Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, World Bank advisor Dr. Deepak Mishra, Professor K.K. Agarwal, Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, and Siddharth Shankar, founder of Humantics AI.
