New Delhi, April 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the nation regarding the Women's Reservation Bill. He emphasized that achieving the goal of a developed India requires harnessing the full potential of women in the nation's growth.

In a video message, PM Modi stated, "I want to speak to mothers, sisters, and daughters. India has decided that by 2047, when we celebrate 100 years of independence, we must become a 'developed India.' Based on my experience as a leader for two to two and a half decades, I can confidently say that to achieve this goal, we must integrate our women's strength into national development."

He highlighted the recent passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which received unanimous support from all political parties. "Everyone agrees that by 2029, when the Lok Sabha elections are held, our women should have 33 percent representation in both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies," he added.

PM Modi mentioned ongoing discussions with various political parties, noting that most have shown support. "There is a very positive atmosphere surrounding this issue. I have shared my thoughts in an article published today," he said.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to read the article and encourage others to do the same. He called on all political parties to rally together, fostering enthusiasm for the passage of this bill in Parliament on April 16, 17, and 18. "Let us all celebrate this together," he said.

In a Facebook post, PM Modi remarked, "Reservation for women in legislative bodies is the need of the hour. It will make our democracy more vibrant and participatory. Any delay in implementing this reservation would be extremely unfortunate."
