New Delhi, April 10: The hustle and bustle of daily life, work pressure, and mental fatigue have become common aspects of modern living.
Taking just a few minutes in the evening for oneself can significantly reduce the exhaustion accumulated throughout the day.
The Ministry of Ayush recommends incorporating regular yoga into daily routines. Evening yoga gradually relaxes the body, alleviating muscle tension, calming the mind, and increasing the likelihood of a good night’s sleep. Practicing yoga for just 15 to 20 minutes daily can yield positive results in a matter of days.
Balasana (Child’s Pose) – This pose is particularly beneficial for those who spend the day sitting or dealing with mental stress. By bending forward and bringing the head close to the ground, this pose helps relieve tension in the back and shoulders. Deep breathing during this pose calms the mind and lightens the spirit, aiding in the relaxation of the nervous system.
Marjaryasana (Cat Pose) – This pose enhances the body’s flexibility. It involves moving the spine up and down in sync with breathing, which improves blood circulation. It effectively reduces stiffness caused by prolonged sitting.
Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) – This pose stretches the entire body, especially strengthening the spine and the back of the legs. It should be performed slowly while focusing on breathing. This practice reduces bodily tension and helps manage racing thoughts. According to the Ministry of Ayush, this pose also aids in improving digestion.
Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose) – In this pose, the legs are raised to create balance in the body. It quickly alleviates fatigue in the legs after standing or walking for extended periods. Additionally, it helps balance blood circulation and calms the mind, making it particularly beneficial for those struggling with sleep issues.
Shavasana (Corpse Pose) – In this pose, the body remains completely still, focusing solely on the breath. This brings deep peace to both body and mind. It is essential for relieving daily fatigue and maintaining mental balance.
