Medical records must be on people's mobiles: Dr Devi Prasad Shetty
Bengaluru: Renowned cardiologist and IIM-B chairman Dr Devi Prasad Shetty on Friday urged management professionals to come out with best ideas for a better health management system to ensure that quality healthcare facilities are accessible to all sections of society using the available IT-enable services.
He was speaking at the two-day, fourth edition of annual IIMBue leadership conclave to discuss nuances of 'change' in resurgent India, organised by the Alumni Association of IIM-B at the Kempegowda International Airport.
'It will be an advantage to both patients and doctors if electronic medical records (EMR) are made available on the mobile screens of people, instead of the desktops of doctors. Many developed countries have already provided EMR information to the people on their mobile phones. Such a system and change is a must in medical sector to create a healthy society,' he said.
Delivering the keynote address, Alumni Association president Saif Qureishi said, 'Thousands of IIMB alumni are working inside and outside the country, contributing their mite for the welfare of society. The alumni have set up industries, established their own start-ups, provided jobs and created wealth for the development of the country.'
The two-day conclave will conclude on Saturday. The first day's session was attended by over 1000 management professionals and alumni of IIMB.
During the panel discussion on Defence Technology and Make in India, Joint Secretary, union government, Department of Defence Production and CEO and Co-founder of Idea Forge Ankit Mehta spoke on the contributions of start-up entrepreneurs and drones in strengthening Indian armed forces....
