Vijayawada: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Friday conducted simultaneous searches at three locations linked to office subordinate (attender) Kondapalli Srinivasa Rao in Vijayawada in a disproportionate assets case and seized incriminating material, including property documents.
During the searches, officials found a building, a house site, nearly 760 grams of gold, including five gold biscuits, around 7.8 kg of silver, bank balances of ₹22 lakh, cash, valuable electronic gadgets, two motorcycles and household articles. The assets were reportedly held in the names of the accused, his wife and son.
ACB officials said further searches were under way when last reports came in. The accused is expected to be arrested and produced before the ACB court in Vijayawada.
Srinivasa Rao was earlier trapped while working in the office of the assistant commissioner of tax, Governorpeta Circle, Vijayawada, on October 16, 2025. Another case was subsequently registered alleging acquisition of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
A case has been booked under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and investigation is in progress.
