Nalgonda: All India Congress Committee member Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy on Friday said lapses in the functioning of resource persons under the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) should be rectified for the benefit of the urban poor.
He was addressing a meeting of Area Resource Persons of MEPMA held at a private function hall in Suryapet.
Sarvotham Reddy said that despite financial constraints faced by the state government, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was ensuring that development and women's empowerment programmes were not affected.
He said the people of Telangana had voted the Congress to power with trust and the government therefore had a responsibility to provide good governance, with priority to resolving public grievances.
He assured the gathering that issues relating to wages of Area Resource Persons and their other grievances would be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and efforts would be made to resolve them.
Suryapet municipal chairperson Morishetty Niveditha and municipal vice-chairman M.D. Shafi Ullah were among those present.
