Kakinada: The Special Mobile Court on Saturday remanded YSRC MLC Anantha Satya Vijaya Bhaskar, popularly known as Anantha Babu, to 14 days' judicial custody in a case relating to alleged intimidation of witnesses in the murder of Veedhi Subrahmanyam.
Veedhi Subrahmanyam, a Dalit youth and former driver of Anantha Babu, was murdered in 2022. Anantha Babu is the main accused in the case. He had earlier spent 218 days in remand before being released on bail.
Recently, four witnesses in the case lodged a complaint with Sarpavaram police alleging that followers of Anantha Babu offered them money to depose in his favour and also threatened them.
Based on the complaint, Sarpavaram police arrested Anantha Babu at Rajamahendravaram on Friday and produced him before the court on Saturday.
