Burglary Cases Cracked In Medak

MEDAK: Medak police cracked a series of burglary cases reported in Chilapalli village under Pedda Shankarampet mandal and recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth nearly ₹1.35 crore.

One habitual offender was arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend two absconding accused.

At a press conference, Medak SP D.V. Srinivas Rao said the thefts took place on the night of May 14.

"The accused along with unidentified burglars targeted five locked houses in Chilapalli village. They allegedly broke open locks and decamped with around 109 tolas and nine grams of gold ornaments, 2.5 kilograms of silver articles, and ₹19,000 in cash. In another house, nearly three tolas of gold ornaments were stolen," he stated.

Police formed five special teams and launched an intensive investigation using technical evidence and intelligence inputs. Based on leads, the accused was traced and apprehended near Ramayampet.

SP Srinivas Rao added that 929.7 grams of gold and 1.7 kilograms of silver articles were recovered. The arrested accused, identified as Jadhav Jairam Naik alias Jemla Naik, is a habitual offender with several property offence cases registered across districts.

Police said the accused confessed to involvement in five burglary cases under Shankarampet police station limits, besides 12 other cases in Kamareddy and Nizamabad. Two more accused remain absconding.

The SP advised citizens to install CCTV cameras, inform local police before leaving homes locked for long periods, and store gold ornaments in bank lockers. Teams involved in solving the case were rewarded.
