Kakinada:Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishnayya (Chanti) said efforts are being made to supply Godavari water to residents of Eluru city through a pipeline project estimated at Rs 230 crore.

Participating in the Swarnandhra and Swachchandra programme in Eluru city on Saturday, Chanti said the initiative aims to bring holistic transformation in society and create awareness on cleanliness.

He said change cannot be achieved overnight and that sustained efforts are required for any programme to succeed. He added that the government is implementing several initiatives to improve groundwater levels across the state and urged people to support such efforts.

Chanti said human survival depends on judicious use of water and stressed the need for public awareness in this regard.

He further said that due to efforts taken over the past three months, Eluru residents have been receiving drinking water twice a day without interruption during the summer season.
