Kadapa: Kadapa deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Venkateswarlu has been transferred following allegations of failure in maintaining law and order and charges of corruption in Kadapa district.

The action comes after a brutal murder near RIMS on Monday night, where a man identified as Pedda Dastagiri was allegedly stabbed to death by a ganja gang. Officials also cited the DSP's alleged failure to control clashes between two groups in Alankhanpalle.

Sources said Venkateswarlu has been facing multiple corruption allegations in recent months. A recent spike in crime in the district further drew criticism over alleged negligence in handling law and order.

Following these developments, higher authorities directed the DSP to report to the DGP office.
