Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday cautioned that ministers who fail to enhance their understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT) risk falling behind.

Addressing colleagues after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister held forth on emerging developments and underscored the growing importance of technology-driven governance. He recalled efforts to bring global tech giant Google to Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu elaborated on how minister Nara Lokesh, during his visit to the US, persuaded the company representatives to consider AP as an investment destination.

The Chief Minsiter directed minister Nimmala Ramanaidu to ensure active participation of ministers in the 'Jaladhara-Jalaharati' programme. In view of rising temperatures, there was a need for proactive measures to prevent public hardship during the summer months.

Naidu asked energy minister Gottipati Ravi to try and achieve the targets set under the 'Surya Ghar' initiative.

Ministers who recently returned from a study tour in Singapore were asked to submit individual reports detailing their observations there.

Highlighting the swift approvals granted for the aerospace and defence cluster near Puttaparthi, Naidu described it as a reflection of the state's commitment to improving the "speed of doing business."

The Chife Minsiter urged ministers to strongly counter the "misinformation campaigns" by the YSRC. He called for a robust response to criticisms regarding Amaravati construction works, particularly on alleged cost escalations.

"Expose false narratives by presenting facts on construction costs. Misinformation must be checked at every level," he said.

The CM also asked ministers to explain to the public the recent issues related to fuel supply and rebut criticism over their Singapore tour.

Naidu emphasised that the best practices studied during the Singapore visit should be effectively communicated to the public to build awareness and confidence in governance initiatives.
