Naidu held a review meeting here on Monday with senior officials from three economic regions, asking them to come up with action plans for their development. He gave suggestions on how to develop these regions.

The CM noted that the plan for the Visakha economic region had been unveiled. There is a need to prepare master plans for the remaining Amaravati and Tirupati economic regions in six months, he said.

He felt the need to prepare districts' economic profile in two months and asked district collectors to come up with a report on the opportunities available in various sectors to develop their respective regions.

Naidu called for developing sports cities involving private parties in Amaravati, Tirupati and Visakha regions to conduct international sports events. He wanted action plans for developing beach fronts including Suryalanka beach along the AP coastline and felt the need to prepare master plans for them.

For the Visakha economic region, Naidu called for its development on three pillars including development

of coastal and maritime tourism, global business-innovation ecosystem and global talent-elite living in order to develop 'Vizag Bay City' and invite prominent firms for investment.

Officials informed the CM that in Bay City, nearly 3,291 acres of government land was available. He noted that so far 49 project proposals were received, of which 18 were grounded and 12 to be grounded soon while 19 more were at the planning stage.

The chief minister asked them to ensure an international convention centre built in one lakh square feet area in three months, as also hotels and IT projects.

He wanted Araku-Paderu-Visakha to be developed as a tourism circle.

On the Amaravati economic region, officials informed the CM that 32 per cent of the population in the state were

living in the Amaravati economic region and its area was covering 33 per cent of the state.

"Amaravati is centrally located in the state. The skilled human resources could become an asset to the region. Nine districts including West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Markapuram and Prakasam are part of the Amaravati economic region. Of these, Krishna district is at top in per capita income, they said.

The chief minister asked the officials to come up with plans for developing aquaculture, palm oil, cocoa and the Kolleru lake for development of the region.

On Tirupati economic region, the chief minister called for developing Rayalaseema as a global horticulture hub

and said it would become a growth engine for Rayalaseema region. He said that under the Purvodaya scheme, an input of `40,000 crore and private investments worth `60,000 crore would help develop horticulture in a big way.

Naidu wanted Lingala mandal in Kadapa district, which set a new record in earning high per capita income from horticulture crop, be projected as a role model for development of the Rayalaseema economic region as a major hub.

He noted that the people in Lingala mandal were having `7.30 lakh as per capita income and called for a study as to how this happy scenario could be created there.

Naidu also called for developing food processing industries to improve the living standards of the people and wanted the officials, MLAs and the ministers to work with proper planning.

The Tirupati economic region, he said, must be developed to compete with the Visakha and Amaravati regions. Spiritual

centres like Tirupati, Srikalahasthi and Srisailam. The IIT-like educational institutions and gold, iron ore and limestone like mineral resources would help in a big way for development of Rayalaseema, he said.
