KURNOOL: A software engineer got killed and three others sustained serious injuries when the car in which they had been travelling rammed into a tree near Adoni in Kurnool district on Friday night.

The victims are said to be natives of Karnataka. They worked at a private software firm in Bengaluru. According to police and local sources, Pradeep, Arpita, Sharmila, and Sipra had been travelling from Bengaluru to Raichur in Karnataka to attend a wedding.

The accident took place near Harivanam on the outskirts of Adoni when the car went out of control and crashed into a tree.

Sipra 35 died on the spot, while the other three occupants suffered grievous injuries. The injured have been shifted to the Adoni Government Hospital for treatment. The body of the deceased has been brought to the same hospital for post-mortem. Adoni police have registered a case and are investigating.
