Nalgonda: Suryapet district collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar has suspended an IKP community coordinator and issued showcause notices to six officials over irregularities in paddy procurement at the Agriculture Market Yard in Tirumalgiri.
Gottiparthi IKP community coordinator K. Ramaiah was suspended for allegedly assisting middlemen in paddy procurement, causing losses to farmers. Showcause notices were issued to Thungathurthy tahsildar T. Dayanandam, Tirumalgiri tahsildar B. Hari Prasad, Thungathurthy MPDO K. Sheshu Kumar, Thungathurthy agriculture officer D. Ramesh, Gottiparthi IKP centre in-charge J. Swetha and Thungathurthy assistant project manager M. Yadamma.
The collector said a case had been registered against a driver and a commission agent for irregularities in the procurement process. Agencies at IKP centres in Gottiparthi, Jalalapuram and Mamidala have been removed from procurement duties.
The action follows an inquiry report which found that some traders purchased paddy at the Tirumalgiri market yard and sold it at the Gottiparthi IKP centre posing as farmers using fabricated documents.
