VISAKHAPATNAM: The executive officer of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Simhachalam, J. Venkat Rao, suspended three employees and issued a show-cause notice to another over separate allegations of misconduct and negligence.
N. Nayanaru was suspended over allegations of collecting money from devotees for `300 special darshan tickets without issuing tickets. During an inspection, officials reportedly found Rs 4,700 in unaccounted cash at the counter.
B. Sanyasi Rao was suspended for allegedly reporting for duty under the influence of alcohol, while K. Appala Raju of the sanitation department was suspended for alleged negligence in performing official duties.
Arun Kumar was served a show-cause notice over alleged negligence while on duty near the Kappa Stambham area of the temple.
Temple authorities initiated the disciplinary action following complaints from devotees and an internal inspection, temple sources said.
