NELLORE: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct a five-day Carireshti Yaga, along with Varuna Yaga and Parjanya Shanti Homam, from August 30 to September 3, seeking timely and abundant rainfall and the prosperity and well-being of people across the state, country and world.
The rituals will be held at Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham in Tirumala, with 32 Vedic, Shrauta and Smartha scholars participating under the supervision of Peetham principal Kuppa Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani.
The programme will begin on August 30 with Ankurarpana, Ganapati Puja, Punyahavachanam and Ritwik Varanam from 7 pm to 8 pm.
From August 31 to September 3, the main rituals will be conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, along with recitations from seven Vedic branches, the Ramayana, Sundarakanda, Virata Parva and Rishyasringa Dhyana. Varuna and Parjanya Mantra Anushtanam will also be performed at Gogarbham Dam.
Evening sessions will feature Agnihotra Anushtanam and Vedic recitations. The observance will conclude with Poornahuthi from 11 am to noon on September 3.
