Like the previous years, the government is hosting the Republic Day parade in Delhi's Kartavya Path. It is not just for the high-profile ministers and their family members; regular people, too, can attend it.
The main section of the tableau had on display the grand and ornate Kashi Vishweshwara temple and Nanneshwara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
They even attend post Republic Day parade-- Beating The Retreat (BTR) Full Dress Rehearsal on January 28 and the final BTR performance on January 29, 2026.
For the uninitiated, BTR is grant military event hosted by all three armed forces -- the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, along with Police bands. It is a decades-old military tradition. At sunset, they play patriotic music, do precision drills, and perform spectacular illuminations.

Here's how to book seats to attend the Republic Day 2026 event on January 26:
Step 1: Go to the official website (here) and look for the availability of the tickets
The government is offering five enclosure group seatings-- North, Vijay Chowk, South, North, Vijay Chowk

Step 2: Based on the availability, pick the group seating and buy the tickets. There are three options-- Republic Day Parade, BTR Full Dress Rehearsal and Beating the Retreat
The price for tickets in North and Vijay Chowk is Rs 20. And, on the other side-- South, North and Vijay Chowk, it costs Rs 100.

Step 3: Once you decide which event you'd like to attend, tap the 'Book your tickets here' tab. You will be asked to register by submiting phone number. You have to type-in captcha code, and then you get an OTP to log in and complete the ticket purchase process.
Citizens can also purchase tickets at physical booths/counters at six locations.
People have to produce original photo ID card such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, and ID Card issued by Central/State Govt. etc. The same Photo ID Card shall be carried for the three events

Tickets will be sold in morning and afternoon sessions-- 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, respectively.
