One of the most notable aspects of the new Googlebook is the AI-powered cursor feature called Magic Pointer.

Built by the Google DeepMind team, Magic Pointer brings Gemini AI capability to the fingertips. In the teaser video, a user just wiggles the cursor near an object on the website, and it offers quick, contextual suggestions.

For instance, if the user wiggles the cursor on a product on screen, it will instantly connect with the internet and scrape all data related to its price and where it is listed on e-commerce websites. There, the user can make an informed decision on which online shop offers the best deal and make the purchase.

Another notable feature of the Googlebook is that it allows the owner to build their own customised widget. With just a text description, it can churn out a widget.

For instance, if a user is planning a family reunion in Udupi (a coastal town of Karnataka), Gemini can organise his/her flight/train/bus details and hotel information, restaurant reservations and even a countdown in a single, helpful spot on the desktop, delivering a truly personalised user experience.

Like other Google products, the Googlebook is deeply optmised to work seamlessly with other Android devices, smartwatches, Internet-of-Things smart home gadgets, and more. It is said to be on par, if not better than, the Apple ecosystem.

Users can cast apps of the Android phone on to the Googlebook.

For instance, if you are working on the Googlebook and want to access a file from an Android phone, it offers access to the files on the phone right from the Googlebook's file browser. With the Quick Access feature, users can easily view, search or insert the phone's files on the laptop. Currently, users have to first select files and turn on Bluetooth to make a wireless transfer between two devices.

The Googlebooks are expected to come in a premium metal enclosure, vibrant, bright display panels and as per the teaser, will have a colourful LED strip, which will light up when conversing with the Gemini AI assistant. Also, it will feature a fingerprint sensor, at least two USB ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Besides the propreitary Googlebook laptop, the company, like for Chromebooks, will be collaborating with industry partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo to build their own Googlebooks in a wide range of price bands. It is expected to launch in fourth quarter this year-end.
