Former Indian pacer S. Sreesanth has revealed that he is no longer on speaking terms with Harbhajan Singh and made a serious allegation that the 'turbanator' profited from the ' slapgate' which transpired in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
In an interview with Malayalam media Mathrubhumi, Sreesanth said that Harbhajan made up to Rs one crore through advertisement centered around the incident, when the latter slapped the former after the match.
When the players were greeting each other after the match, Harbhajan who was with Mumbai Indians slapped Sreesanth (of Kings XI Punjab), creating a bitter rivalry that has lasted to date. Harbhajan was banned from the entire IPL season and lost his match fees as well.
According to Sreesanth, Harbhajan had asked him to share the said advertisement on his Instagram account but he refused.
"Until recently, there were no problems, but he made an ad about it once again. He made around Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1 crore off it. He then called me and asked me to post a story about it. I told him, 'I'll forgive but I'll never forget," Sreesanth told the Malayalam news outlet.
"If someone wrongs you, you should forgive them but never forget. If you forget, they will do the same thing again. He is the biggest example of that. There is no doubt about it."
The former India star also said that he has blocked Harbhajan on Instagram and has "no relationship with that person."
