Bengaluru: Bamul president D K Suresh on Tuesday reiterated that he wanted to see his elder brother and deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar as chief minister, but perhaps not immediately.
He was responding to a reporter's question about Home Minister G Parameshwara's statement that Siddaramaiah would remain the chief minister for the next two years. The home minister, on Monday, had stated that Siddaramaiah would be the CM for the next two years and there was no need to repeat it.
Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, Suresh sarcastically said, "You must ask him about that. The home minister has made an official statement, we have to listen to what he says".
D K Shivakumar's Delhi visit triggers fresh speculation about leadership change after Budget SessionWhen a reporter reminded him that he had openly expressed his desire to see his brother become the chief minister, Suresh replied, "Let's talk about that later. I haven't said I have no desire. I haven't said he will become CM today".
The Congress leader said the proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha seats would cause economic loss to south Indian states as taxes collected in the south would be distributed to the north Indian states.
