Meaning of 'Madhu Kar'
The name Madhu Kar carries a symbolic meaning, in which Madhu means honey and Kar means tax, reflecting the idea that taxes, like honey collected by bees, contribute to building and sustaining the nation. According to the Income Tax Department, the honeybee also represents diligence, community effort, and a well-organised system.

Among the key changes is the introduction of a single 'tax year' concept, replacing the earlier system of previous year and assessment year, along with a more structured arrangement of provisions across chapters.
According to officials, such initiatives are crucial to ensure smoother adoption of the new law, as the government seeks to build a taxpayer-friendly, transparent, and modern tax administration system.
