Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is taking steps to make travel more convenient, transparent, and digital for various social groups.

In this direction, the 'RuPay On-The-Go' NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) enabled smart card scheme was inaugurated at Mantralaya by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik, along with other ministers and officials of the corporation, were present on the occasion.

Permits now mandatory for commercial e-bikes, e-autos in Maharashtra

During the event, NCMC smart cards were distributed to beneficiaries including senior citizen Ramesh Dhavare, and concession beneficiaries Sangita Palakar and Varsha Kamble.

Under this initiative, Aadhaar-linked NCMC smart cards will be distributed to students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women, and other concession beneficiaries. Through this card, passengers will be able to avail travel concessions in ST bus services more easily, ensuring a more digital and transparent travel management system.
