Oppo earlier this month launched the new line of F33 series mid-range Android phones in India.
It comes in two variants-- F33 and F33 Pro-- with prices starting at Rs 31,999.
Design, build quality and display
Oppo's F33 Pro is one of the most pretty looking phone. Our review unit is called Misty Forest.
The company has used advanced Dynamic 3D Depth technology, an industry first, to engrave a pine forest silhouette on the back of the device. The multi-coloured tone, when looked at from certain angles, makes the device unique and very pleasing to the eyes.

At the top, Oppo has used an integrated cold sculpting technique on composite sheets with a 40,000 RPM CNC carving method to create a seamless high-gloss camera module with a matte soft touch finish. It has a skin-friendly HC hard coating, making the back panel a single unibody piece.

The artistic back panel eliminates the need for the owner to buy a third-party fancy cover case to make the phone stand out. The free case is very sturdy, too. It has very thick cushions at all four corners, and there are also raised lips on the front, which protect the display from cracking during an accidental fall on a hard surface.

The device is fully protected against dust and water. It comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification in addition to IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K water-and dust-resistant ratings. It is capable of surviving a fall in the swimming pool up to 1.5 metres (around five feet) for close to 30 minutes and also withstand high water jet pressure (8000-10000 kPa) as well, but only for a few seconds. This comes when you go for fun rides in water parks in the summer.

Also, it is capable of surviving a hot water (up to 85-degree Celius) spill. Inside, the company has used AM04, an ultra-high-strength aluminium alloy with high thermal conductivity for the motherboard. The AM04 is said to be 10 per cent sturdier than its predecessor.
Besides the Misty Forest, the Oppo device is available in two other colours--passion red and starry blue.
The device is compact and weighs 190 grams and comes with an 8.29mm thickness.

The F33 Pro sports a nice 6.57-inch full HD+ (2372 x 1080p) AMOLED screen. It supports up to 1400 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, perfect for multimedia consumption indoors.

Performance
The devices come with a 6nm class MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX octa-core CPU with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The processor in the new phone is a downgrade compared to the predecessor (4nm class MediaTek Dimensity 7300- Energy). That said, the device performs smoothly without any glaring issues to complain about. Be it running generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) apps or playing games, it works without showing any hint of lag-ness as such.

Once the device is locked, the system implements a mechanism to prevent forced exit, shutdown, USB data theft, and firmware flashing, and disables NFC as well.
The F33 Pro houses a 7,000mAh battery, the same as the previous iteration. It can easily last more than a day under extreme usage. With normal usage with Wi-Fi connectivity at home and the office, it can go for two days. It supports 80W charging speed and takes a little over 70 minutes to go from zero to 100 per cent.
It also supports 10W reverse charging. It can be used to recharge a TWS earphone or even another phone.

Oppo F33 Pro 5G.
Even camera hasn't undergone a major upgrade, but it does a fine job of getting pretty good photos in all light conditions.
However, it delivers well on long battery life.
