Quietly slipped off to Israel after challenge to cancel US deal: Rahul Gandhi takes dig at PM Modi

Quietly slipped off to Israel after challenge to cancel US deal: Rahul Gandhi takes dig at PM Modi

Deccan Herald 2 months ago

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "quietly slipping off" to Israel without addressing his challenge made 24 hours ago to cancel the India-US trade deal.

Rahul had on Tuesday, while addressing a Congress farmers' rally in Bhopal, dared the Prime Minister to scrap the US trade deal following the American Supreme Court ruling that President Donald Trump's tariff regime was illegal.

"Narendra 'Surrender' Modi, it has been more than 24 hours since I challenged you to cancel the US Trade Deal and once again, you have quietly slipped off to Israel," he posted on 'X'.

"At least once, you have already 'danced and sung' in Israel at Epstein's behest -- so this time, on whose orders will you return after striking a deal against the country's interests?" he asked.

Earlier, Rahul had claimed that Modi gave a green signal for the deal under pressure from the US by using the threat of releasing "Epstein files" and an ongoing criminal case involving industrialist Gautam Adani in the US.
