Kolar: The preliminary re-examination conducted for probationary Group A and Group B posts held on Sunday was found to be full of errors as candidates expressed their ire over mismatch of OMR number with that of registration number.
Several candidates had mismatch of numbers on OMR sheet and their hall ticket. While a few had five digits registration number, their OMR sheet carried only four digits confusing the candidates. Due to the chaos, the exam that was scheduled for 10 am began late by one hour.
The exam was conducted at 14 centres in the district.
The exam centre supervisors and the district administration brought these lapses to the commission authorities. As per the instructions by the commission's exam invigilators, the candidates were asked to write their registration number on OMR Sheets.
While the same has been authorised, the candidates were given extra one hour to write the exam.
Candidates who had their registration numbers mismatched demanded the Commission to conduct re-exam. "The numbers in OMR sheet and that on hall ticket do not tally. We have been asked to write the number. But it will be a problem again while scanning the OMR sheets. How will they evaluate the paper in such a situation," asked irate students.
It may be recalled here that the exam was earlier conducted on August 27 in 2023-24 but it was conducted again after there were lapses in translation. However, over 50% of candidates who had registered were absent for the Sunday's exam.
