Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president and former MLC K Kavitha reiterated on Friday that the Delhi excise policy case was politically motivated, a vendetta against opposition parties.
In her first reaction after a Delhi court discharged all accused, she insisted she had no involvement and accused it of targeting Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao through character assassination.
"I thank the Indian judicial system for dismissing this false Delhi excise policy case. From the start, I said it would come out as washed pearl and today's verdict proves it. The court clarified the arguments were entirely false, and we welcome the clean chit for all involved," she told reporters.
Arrested in the Delhi liquor scam, Kavitha spent over five months in jail before securing bail. "For five-and-a-half months, I was separated from my children and family, facing immense pain, humiliation, and character assassination. No compensation can erase that indignity or lost time and our family endured grave injustice," she said.
Kavitha criticized her brother, BRS working president KTR, over his post-verdict tweet. "He congratulated me while implying the party's defeat stemmed from this case. BRS social media twists narratives to blame the loss on it. Why target me if not to settle scores with BRS? I question KTR, When jailed, why didn't KCR, KTR, or leaders hold a press meet? I faced it alone, without social media support," she said.
K Kavitha makes steady strides toward launching new party"Am I why BRS lost assembly elections? People should reflect-jobs, double-bedroom houses, corruption, and above all, arrogance dominated discussions. You're twisting the verdict to pin defeat on me. KTR must grasp facts, review mistakes, accept truth, and stay accountable. Party social media offered no support then-now they peddle belated excuses. Don't you know the behind-the-scenes reality? Speak truth, don't scapegoat me," she added.
In two months, she said she will launch the political party, believing God blessed this verdict. "Even after losing Nizamabad, I accepted the people's judgment without excuses. Delhi held elections post-Kejriwal's arrest, but I was jailed after Telangana polls-yet your social media army twists facts to blame the case. Mere words won't cut it now. My name barely featured in election talk; double-bedroom houses, jobs, and migration ruled. This timing feels like nature's blessing for our party launch," she added.
K Kavitha in talks with Prashant Kishor over launching political party in TelanganaBRS casualty of Delhi liquor scam: KTR
Kavitha's brother, BRS working president K T Rama Rao, noted The AAP Government led by Arvind Kejriwal was brought down in the name of the so-called liquor scam, and the political casualty of that narrative was the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in both the Assembly and Parliament elections.
"Kavita Garu got justice in court today and in the same manner, every case registered against our leaders will be conclusively exposed as false, politically motivated, and fabricated. Until that truth prevails, we will continue to witness reckless allegations from the Congress and the BJP, amplified by media trials designed to malign and mislead. Unfortunately, this has now become the new norm in the "New India" where accusations replace evidence, and media narratives attempt to substitute due process But in the end, justice will prevail," KTR said.
