Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) have issued a traffic advisory for Sunday and Monday, notifying major diversions and parking curbs near prominent temples and cemeteries to accommodate Mahashivaratri celebrations.

Kalpalli & Pulakeshinagar

From 2 pm on Sunday to 10 pm on Monday, traffic movement around the Kalpalli cemetery will be restricted. Vehicles from Jeevanahalli and Charles Campbell Road must detour via the Jeevanahalli underbridge and Doddagunta Circle to reach Old Madras Road. Traffic from Baiyappanahalli toward Cox Town is redirected via Doddabanaswadi Main Road. Parking is strictly prohibited on both sides of Kalpalli Road.

JB Nagar & Indiranagar

The Smashana Kali Temple festival will see CMH Road completely closed between Adarsha and Shanthi Sagara junctions on Monday (8 am-10 pm). Commuters heading toward BM Sri Junction are advised to use Anjaneya Junction and Old Madras Road. Parking is banned along the entire stretch.

Heavy congestion is also expected on Old Airport Road on Sunday due to the influx of devotees at the Sri Shivoham Temple. Commuters should opt for Suranjandas Road or JB Nagar Main Road. For those visiting the temple, parking has been facilitated at the Sir MV Visvesvaraya College Ground.

The BTP has urged the public to plan their travel in advance and follow the designated alternative routes to avoid bottleneck situations.
