Mumbai: Veteran filmmaker Kuku Kohli passed away on Tuesday evening in Mumbai. He was 77.
He is survived by his wife, actor Aruna Irani, and his two children from his first marriage to Rita Kohli - filmmakers Pooja Kohli and Karishma Kohli.
Couple of days ago, Kohli was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after feeling unwell.

Kohli introduced Ajay Devgn to the film industry with Phool Aur Kaante, Kohli went on to direct films including Kohraam (1991), Suhaag (1994), Haqeeqat (1995), Anari No. 1, Zulmi, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa and Woh Tera Naam Tha.
He also gave Rohit Shetty his early experience as an assistant.
